THE HEART OF THE 127 YARD SALE!

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Do you get a real kick out of getting a bargain? Are you a passionate collector? Are you still looking for that plate you broke in 1982The Lodge to make up your set? Well, then this is the place to be from August 7 to August 10 2008. Jamestown initiated the Highway 127 yard sale and we are 8 miles from the 127, the densest part of the Yard Sale.
The road between Jamestown south to Crossville is only 45 miles and you could spend a solid week just doing those stalls!
Enjoy the peace and quiet at Wildwood - bed and breakfast or cabins - after your day's excitement. Clean and comfortable, with no price hiking - you will discover a haven that you'll want to come back to even when the Yard Sale's over! The Corridor Yard Sale now stretches 450 miles from Kentucky to Alabama. There are only 4 official days, so there will be high pressure on lodging as before. However, unofficially, vendors start setting up the previous weekend - some even sell out before the official start. So if you can't get in on the Thursday through Sunday, think about coming up before. You'll get to snap up items that don't even make it to the Yard Sale.
Start off your day with a hearty, full cooked breakfast at your choice of time - you'll be grateful as it's not easy to find good food on the Yard Sale.
It's fun and it's exciting. Come with a wad of one-dollar bills and enjoy bartering with the sellers - they love to bargain as much as we do. Chat with them - they're there to sell but prefer to sell to someone they enjoyed talking to - they may even knock down the price if you make them laugh.
Empty your trunk, take your truck, hitch up the trailer! Drive slowly, pull off the road at each stall - it may be someone's front yard, a garage or a field neatly roped off into a number of lots - wander round, ferret, look under the tables and talk to the vendors. You'll be surprised how much you want when the price is right!
You've got everything - everyday items at knock-down prices, very collectible items, the odd mis-priced gem hidden beneath quite a lot of trash and of course, savvy dealers unloading their stuff at silly prices as well as the inevitable dealer who buys in nasty cheap goods. No worry - the latter are so obvious, you just skip round those tables - it makes the real yard-salers all the more pleasurable.
