Big South Fork River and
Recreational
Area is just that - a huge forested wilderness, dedicated to all the
outdoor activities you can imagine, in harmony with and respect of
nature.
The largest equestrian park in SE USA, it boasts miles and miles of
trails, with numerous trailheads - it extends even more in
adjacent Daniel Boone Forest.
The landscape is spectacular - huge bluffs, caves, natural stone
arches, hills and hollers(!), fabulous variety of woods and
wildflowers, Big South Fork river running through the gorge. Every
season offers a different view of BSF - spring flowers and the new
leaves that compete with fall colors in their variety, summer flowers
and deep shady areas, the beauty of fall and winter icicles, bluffs and
rivers that you can't normally see through the leaves.
